[Thea said she shouldn't have taken that for an answer. That she should have stood her ground and basically told him to suck it. Which makes sense for a woman who responded to the last person trying to break up with her with "No, you're not."
Malia was pretty sure that in that situation, though, Thea hadn't done anything wrong. Malia knows she did - or she at least thinks she does - which makes it all the harder to actually try and put into words what Scott needs to hear.
(Most days, she'd like to think that if Peter were dying on the side of the road, she would leave him there and walk away. She knows it's not true, however, because even though she knows that Peter can and will take care of himself, there's part of her that still wants him there, as long as he still wants to be there.)
That's why when he finally responds to her text, a week after she sent it, it catches her by surprise. She was fairly certain when he left to go home that he was never coming back. What surprises her even more is that he thinks that she was mad at him, and that it sounds like he's going to apologize?????
If he actually wants to see her, she's not going to tell him no. While she and Derek have gotten better, Scott was still her strongest connection here, and she doesn't want to blow that.]
