Incentive: She just wants to get out of Beacon Hills for a while. Her ex-boyfriend who she still has feelings for hooked up with her best friend, she’s having complicated feelings regarding her murderous biodad and all of her friends are leaving to go to college, so she wants to set out on her own for a bit, and Piraeus is giving her a convenient means to do that.
She’s totally not running away though. She’s just … going abroad. To another universe. Without warning. It’s probably fine.
Threat Level: Being a werecoyote, Malia does have a lot of violent abilities. On a full moon, if she’s not fully in control, she could hurt people due to the violent surges natural to a shifter of her world. In addition to that, Malia can be quite violent, if she or someone she cares about his threatened. She still relies a lot on her coyote instincts, after having lived as one for 8 years – particularly considering it happened in a large chunk of her formative years. She also has a lot of guilt over her first shift, which happened during a car accident that killed her adoptive mother and sister.
Malia, however, desperately does not want to be a killer. She’s the daughter of two known murderers, one a sociopath who went on a murder spree to avenge his family and an assassin who actively tried to kill her, she knows that it would be very easy for her to follow in her parents’ footsteps. She’s worked very hard to control her coyote form, both on full moons and in real life, and while she is clearly the tank of the pack, she doesn’t pick fights, she only finishes them, and does so in a non-homicidal manner whenever possible.
TL;DR while she may be likely to punch someone in the face if they piss her off, she works very hard to restrain herself, and not be a large threat to the general population.

Notes: Malia’s werecoyote abilities are as follows:Enhanced senses, also being skilled at manipulating them – example: Malia can use her enhanced hearing to listen to someone’s heartbeat and tell whether or not they’re lying. It’s not a foolproof system because some people are awesome liars and can monitor their heartbeat, but it’s worked pretty well for her thus far. She can also smell pheromones and pick up on when someone is feeling intense emotions like stress or sadness, and she can sense when someone is about to have a seizure. Enhanced strength and speed. Healing – they can heal almost instantaneously from any wound, provided that the item in question is removed (if they’re stabbed) or there isn’t wolfsbane involved. Inducing physical trauma can trigger the healing for things like paralytics and other non-fatal toxins.
They can also temporarily take another person or animal’s pain onto themselves. It’s actually really sweet and can only really be done in small doses – if they take too much it can kill them.Shifting – Malia has 2 shifted forms – one is a hybrid shape which includes a set of nasty looking claws, fangs, additional facial hair, blue eyes and pointy ears. It is not the most attractive thing in the world, but it is rather terrifying. It's also indicated that their "wolf" eyes work differently/are separate from their human eyes. They see more than their normal eyes do, and there's an instance of a werewolf where their human eyes were blinded, but they could still see as a wolf. IDK how it works, but it does. The second form is a coyote, fur, tail and all.
